In The Bitter Violet Night

"truly great men must experience great sadness", Crime and Punishment

Clouds covered the summer night sky, shining, illuminated by the city's bright lights. The Logicars stood looking at the bustling with life city streets, talking, laughing and preparing for what was to come.

The Logicars were amongst the best people of their times, they were giants, legends in their own minds. It took some time before the world got to know who they were. They all came from different backgrounds, and it is peculiar that they ever met. The first of the Logicars were born in very different places of the world. Slowly the friends of friends would be invited to meet each other, over the years growing to become a close group.

Yet it began so trivially, like Mozart's compositions. Separate, not yet knowing that they'd be friends, they entered the coffee shop and looked for a place to sit. Not trusting anyone at first, they sat next to each other in silence, sipping on their drinks. Finally someone began talking. Slowly at first and then more eagerly, his eyes shinning and his face grinning as all the parts of his story came together at the right point and everyone listening burst out in laughter. Each individual spontaneously took a turn and entertained the rest, each had his own special talent and his time to shine. Soon it was time to leave, but the at first loose group of individuals had become close friends and decided to meet again.

So they did. The coffee shop became their meeting spot, but soon they found that they had a lot more in common than they thought. They'd bump into each other on the city's streets, in the restaurants, at the movies. Everywhere they went they realized there was someone like them close by. With all the different talents they had, they felt they could overcome anything that might happen to them in life. Whenever one had a problem, someone else from the group would have a solution. They could truly trust each other, knowing they could count on others from the group. It was a good feeling to finally trust someone.

As their coffee shop meetings went on, the seasons changed. Fall became winter, winter became spring, and spring became summer. The years that they spent together seemed brilliant, almost magical. During that time, the friends became fearless and cunning, understanding to never hold back their dreams. Yet, there was a great sadness that plagued the Logicars, as they could never share what they had with strangers, who they identified through looks and gestures. Their friendship existed in the dark and they never spoke about who they really were. Others wouldn't understand. The world would not understand. Outside of their circle there was nothing but darkness.

By now the coffee shop had become legendary, holding many memories. But no one can remain the same. At some point people can't take anymore coffee, and they get bored with the same old cookies. The friends knew that they needed to search for something greater, and not look back at their magnificent past. They have all said all they wanted to say. Now they were free. Free from the insecurities and fear of adolescence. In each other's eyes they saw what they had to do.

The friends stood outside of the coffee shop looking at the bustling with life city streets, waiting. Waiting for the wind that they knew was coming. They've been preparing for this all their lives and were too proud and too determined to ever turn back. They didn't try to hold on to the city's streets as the winds took them away and threw them apart. They rose higher and higher, drifting further away, and they scattered around the world.

Then, separated, the Logicars began questioning the existence of others like them. They began questioning the reality of all their memories and the meaning of their own existence, more and more. And so they began to slowly fade away, until one day there was nothing left of them, and they disappeared from the face of the earth.
