IPv4/IPv6 Coexistence, Phase 2
Phase 2
- Most networks are IPv6-only or dual stacked
- Some users still have IPv4 because of legacy applications
- Some organizations stop providing interoperability with IPv4 and drop their NAT-PTs
Notes:
After gaining critical mass IPv6 deployment will quickly spread, as major
problems will be solved and easy to setup transition aiding products will be
available. Engineer who worked with IPv6 early on will be in high demand, as
organizations will demand IPv6 networks. Almost everyone will use IPv6 or
provide a interoperability mechanism. Usage of IPv4 will continue for many years
in legacy systems.
